Alsey Refractories :: Company History

During the beginning of the new millennium, Alsey developed several new products. The first product, FLUE-SET, a non-water soluble mortar was developed as the result of the ever changing residential building codes. Subsequently, there was the advent of a 3000ºF firebrick stain to give firebrick a different look from the typical buff color to a black or red color for residential fireplace construction. Two new pieces of machinery were added: a jaw crusher in the grinding department and a hydraulic brick press for smaller production runs of special shapes.

On October 1st, 2004, Louis S. Goltermann III was appointed President of Alsey Refractories Company which elevated Louis S. Goltermann, Jr. to Chief Executive Officer. 2006 marks our centennial celebration; we will continue to serve our customers with the same quality and pride as we have over the past 100 years.
